Christmas Tour

Harry Connick, Jr will soon be starting his new Christmas tour, and I can't WAIT!!!  It's almost time to order the fan club tickets...NYC here I come!

By some miracles the Eagles managed to pull off a win on Sunday night.  It was unbelievable.  And last night the same thing happened to the Phillies!  Go Philly Teams!!!

nothing appeals at Barnes & Noble

so I'm off to B&N today, looking for something new to read.  Maybe I'm in a rutt.  I have a handfull of favorite authors who I adore, and it takes a lot to interest me in someone new.  I came home empty handed again.

Very disappointing has been the long wait for George R. R. Martin's "A Dance With Dragons" that is currently running about 2 1/2 years or so behind schedule.  I remember reading last year on the B&N or Amazon website that it was FINALLY going to be published this past September.  It's been such a long time since I read the first book in the series I thought it would be a good idea to refresh my memory and re-read the Ice & Fire series.  I plowed through all four books in about a month.  September rolls around and guess what?  George is so busy globe-trotting and working on other projects that the darn book still isn't finished!  I don't understand how that's possible, if I finished a sleep study 20 minutes late I'd be in serious trouble with my boss.  Anyway, I love 'ya George, but I feel like I'm being held hostage while waiting for this darn book to come out!

All I can say is thank goodness for Dean Koontz.  He's been reliably putting out 1 book/year for quite awhile, and for the last few years it's been two books per year.  That's one of the many reasons that Dean is my all-time favorite author.  Okay, so he's holding the last Prodigal Son novel and making us all wait for that one as well, but it's not like the book's not finished.  I've read that Dean has said he just can't release it with everything that's happened in New Orleans since Katrina, those people have been through enough without having a fictional melt-down in his novel.  I get it,  I appreciate the sentiment, but again, I'm still waiting impatiently for the release date.  But you know what, that's okay, we have "Your Heart Belongs To Me due out next month.  YAY!

In my search for something new I even reverted to reading young adult fiction.  I picked up the Twilight series on a whim and blew through it in less than a week.

Please, someone write something new!
